* While running a lap, racers must stay on the designated course.  Any racer that goes off the designated course will result in a disqualification.  For teams, the entire team will be disqualified.

Race Director

* Race Director has the final say in any ruling.

Night Running

* Teams/solos are required to provide their own lighting systems.  The runner on course must have it on them from 9 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m Sunday.  The lighting system must be in good working order.

Awards Ceremonies

* The awards ceremonies are scheduled to start approximately one hour after the official end of each event (3 p.m. for the 6 hour event; 9 p.m. for the 12 hour event; 9 a.m. for the 24 hour event), this may vary depending on circumstances.  This allows for everyone to find their way back from the 2.5, 5 & 7.5k finish points.

Awards

*Finishing Medals
To receive the dirty girl finishing pin, runners must complete their discipline according to the rules. All teammates will receive pins, if their team finishes.

*Category Awards
Believe it or not, this race has some REALLY unique category awards again.  Final categories will be determined by the number of entrants.

Course Route

* The Race Director reserves the right to alter the official course route prior to running depending on weather and other extenuating circumstances.  Every effort will be made to keep the route close to the advertised distance and elevation.

Aid Stations

*  2 aid stations are on course, 1 at the start/finish and 1 right before the 5k mark.   Please make sure you carry sufficient food and drink to last you either 5k or 10k. Hammergel will be available at both aid stations. No Gatorade.

Policy on Sustainability

The sky is falling, the sky is falling...not really, but chicken little had it right in terms of telling big tales to get people to notice.  dirty girls run is a little edgy and is making people notice so here's the message:  Respect the trails and the people and animals we share this great resource with. On race weekend: leave no trace, pack out what you bring in (wrappers etc.), stay on marked trails, help other runners in need and leave the animals alone and they will leave you alone.

RELAY TEAM RULES

Overview - Relay Team Strategy

Similar to adventure races and endurance mountain bike events, the "Relay Team" category is based on strategy. You choose whether you will have 2, 3, 4 or 5 team members and whether you will enter an all male, all female or co-ed team. Ultra running tests your physical and your mental endurance. The longer the race, the harder it becomes mentally. Choose your team members wisely, read the rules and devise your strategy. Team awards will be based on the number of teams entered in each event.

Running Laps

* Each team member must run at least one lap.

* Team members are permitted to run an unlimited number of back-to-back laps, in any sequence (e.g. A runner can run laps 1 & 2 then laps 7, 8 & 9).

* A team runner MUST delcare "out again" to their timer in the TRANSITION AREA if they are running consecutive laps.

*  A new team member who is heading out on a lap must register their bib number with their timer and the transition, between old and new runner, MUST take place in the TRANSITION AREA

*  It is the responsibility of the team runners to follow the above rules for changing team members/running consecutive laps, otherwise, THEIR LAP WILL NOT COUNT.

Breaks
(when none of your runners are on course)

* If your team decides to take a rest break, we ask that you TELL YOUR TIMER that no runners from your team are GOING BACK OUT.  When your team decides to send someone back out, they must start their lap in the TRANSITION AREA  and your timer MUST be notified.  Your team's split time will be cumulative.  We will NOT adjust split times or official times for rests taken.

Changing a runner

* Teams have the option to cancel a partial lap once it has started.  Racers MUST NOTIFY their TIMER at Base Camp that a new runner is beginning and that runner must start the lap in the TRANSITION AREA.  The cancelled lap WILL NOT count as a completed lap.

Substituting Team Members

* To substitute a runner, the new runner must fill out the appropriate paperwork (i.e. release waiver).  Substitutions CANNOT be made after race start, 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Rankings

*COURSE MARSHALLS WILL BE ON COURSE IN THE LAST HOUR OF EACH EVENT AT THE 2.5KM, 5.0KM AND 7.5KM MARKS.  RUNNERS MUST RUN PAST THE MARSHALL TO BE GIVEN CREDIT FOR THAT DISTANCE (e.g. A runner that has done 5 laps in the 6 hour race and heads back out on course in the last hour may obtain a final measurement of 50, 52.5, 55, 57.5 or 60km.) Not even making a sad puppy dog face will get you credit for a distance IF YOU HAVEN'T CROSSED THE PATH OF THE TIMING MARSHALL!

* An air horn will go off at base camp at 2pm, 8pm and 8am, according to the official time of the Race Director who is carrying a stop watch. The official cut off times at the 2.5, 5 and 7.5k marks will be done according to synchronized stop watches carried by timing marshalls.  Individual watch times ARE NOT VALID in this race.

* All racers (solos and team members) must complete their laps by either 2 p.m (6 hour event), 8 p.m. (12 hour event) or 8 a.m. on Sunday (24 hour event).

* Team ranking is determined by the number of laps completed then by time.

* Teams MUST have a runner on course in the last hour of the race (i.e. hour 5 of the 6hr event; hour 11 of the 12 hour event and; hour 23 of the 24 hour event).

*  Team runners CAN extend their time on course by NOT crossing the finish line if they decide it is part of the team's strategy and meets the requirement of having a runner on course in the last hour of their event (e.g. A team member in the 6 hour event waits until the clock reaches 5:00:01 before crossing the finish line and the team decides NOT to send out another runner on course).

* Awards for team events will depend on the number of teams entered.

Scoreboard

*  Scoreboards will be updated once an hour and are located at the end of the TRANSITION AREA.

* A Scoreboard will list runner's bib numbers (chronological order) and accompanying names, with Team names listed at the bottom of each respective Event Board (6hr, 12hr & 24hr).  The Scoreboards will indicate laps completed, it will NOT list lap times. Final posted results will list lap split times but it is the responsibility of the individual runners to monitor their lap times, if this is part of their strategy.

*  Do NOT ask timers for lap details as this can distract them from recording times.  If you disagree with a Scoreboard item, take it up with the Race Director.

Pacers

*  No pacers are allowed in relay team events

Assigning Captains and Queries

* Each team must assign a captain who is responsible for all team actions, any rule queries and for corresponding with the Race Director.
